Keratin Lash Lift

With our Keratin Lash Lift, your natural lashes are lifted up and filled with a special pigment infusion. As a result, you have thick, dark lashes with a beautiful curve upwards. This creates the universally desired “open eye” look.
  • How long does it last and what's involved?

The boosting and lifting effect lasts for 8-12 weeks, which is the natural life cycle of the eyelash. The treatment also involves the application of coenzymeQ10 gel pads to the under-eye area, which have anti-aging properties.

Lashes can be transformed to make a dramatic impact and enhance the eyes. There are no false lashes attached or any harmful adhesives used. This innovative treatment works by boosting and lifting each individual lash, then tinting them for a thicker, darker and longer looking lash which will last for 8-12 weeks.

Following the treatment, it is advised that you

refrain from getting the lashes wet for 48 hours for the best results. During that time the formula is still active and your lift effect is still developing

    on the lashes.

  • What is the upkeep?

The lash lift can potentially last 8 to 12 weeks. The

average person sheds 4-5 lashes a day, so at five weeks 30 to 40 percent of those lashes will have been shed with new ones growing in their place. Because the new hairs growing in are untreated and straighter, YUMILashes created a keratin mascara, which you can purchase from the lash specialist during your appointment, to even out the look of the blended lashes while they transition.

  • How far apart should you space your appointments?

Because the process works best on healthy virgin

lashes, YUMILashes specialists will only work on repeat clients every 8 weeks to allow the old lashes proper time to shed.

Microblading

Microblading is a make-up solution that creates natural looking beautiful eyebrows. The procedure is semi-permanent and is done within an hour or so using a handheld microblade. The microblade artist carefully designs the customers eyebrows to fit their face. It is perfect for people who have over plucked or want more definition in their eyebrows. Essentially microblading is a form of tattooing, but instead of using a machine the artist uses a small microblade. Each hair is carefully drawn on the skin and the end results are perfect natural looking eyebrows.
  • Is the microblading procedure painful?

Most of our clients report little or no pain. Often they say it’s a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10, at most. Some clients have literally slept through the appointment! We leave a topical anesthetic on the eyebrow area for 20 minutes before we begin the process, so this leaves most clients totally numb during the procedure.

Microblading is intended to be a painless experience, certainly less painful than traditional tattooing on account of the numbing cream. Let the numbing cream take effect, and relax!

Once your microbladed eyebrows are complete, you shouldn’t experience any pain. Some clients occasionally report a slight tingling sensation that quickly wears off. There will be some slight scabbing following the procedure which can be itchy, but if the aftercare protocol is adhered to, the effects will be minimised. You should avoid scratching or rubbing your eyebrows if they itch; let nature take its course and your body will heal by itself.

  • What are the benefits of micro-blading?

Start everyday with beautiful natural looking eyebrows. Microblading will save you time when getting ready in the morning.

Women spend an average of 55 minutes each day working on their hair and makeup. Over one year, this amounts to a whopping 334 hours spent in front of a mirror! Shaving off even a handful of those minutes each day can lead to freeing up a considerable amount of time each year.

Microblading can save you from this exhaustion and frustration, it’s time to wake up with beautiful eyebrows.

  • How does skin colour affect micro-blading

A client’s skin undertones may have unexpected effects on the ink’s color. The artist may need to add color to adjust. These kind of corrections are normal with any microblading artist and an essential part of the process. Everyone’s skin is unique and is affected by the ink differently.

  • How many appointments are needed?

Microblading typically takes two appointments to complete. In the first appointment, the client is profiled and the eyebrows are drawn on with a waterproof pencil, so the artist and client can agree on the look. The artist then microblades the eyebrows and the client is ready to go back into the world. There is some mild scabbing and aftercare required, but

your microblading should be completely healed in 30 days.

The second appointment is a touch up at least 30 days after the first session. This allows enough time for the ink in the epidermis to naturally slough off, and the color to settle into your skin. In the touch up appointment, the artist can see how your skin has received the ink and make any necessary corrections.

Between 15 and 20% of drawn strokes may disappear after the first treatment depending on how well you look after them in the after care. (A cream and aftercare sheet is given to you at the time of treatment).
Colour is extremely darker during the first 5 to 7 days. 7 days later, it loses about 30-40% of its intensity. If you think the colour is too dark, do not try to remove it yourself by no means. Patiently wait 7 days for the colour to fade on its own after the healing of the skin.
Colour duration primarily depends on how oily the skin is. The oilier the skin, the shorter the colour lasts. Sweating and sun exposure also reduce colour fastness

  • What after-care is required?

We provide a thorough consultation on how to care for your beautiful new microblade eyebrows together with an easy to follow list of do’s and don’ts.  For example, one of the most important factors is to ensure that you don’t get your eyebrows wet for a least 2 weeks after your treatment. You’ll need to either be careful with that shower head or use a strategically placed shower cap to keep the area dry.

You should also avoid exposure to the sun; either wear a hat to cover your forehead or use a high factor suncream. If you’re planning a holiday, try and take this into account to avoid ruining those perfect new eye toppers!

Avoid using skin exfoliators as the abrasive nature of these will remove a layer of skin, which in turn will shorten the lifespan of your semi permanent eyebrows. We recommend using natural products to moisturise the skin, with coconut oil being an ideal choice.
